Long before we swiped or tapped cards to get on the subway, we paid for fares by dropping tokens in turnstiles. These earrings are made from genuine tokens used for Boston's subway system long before it was even called "The T." When this design was introduced in 1951, the underground in Boston was part of the MTA—of "Charlie on the MTA" fame—or Metropolitan Transit Authority. These (and newer versions of the brass tokens) were used until 2007, when the MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority) transitioned to CharlieCards.

These earrings are made with hypoallergenic, nickel-free, lead-free ear hooks.

These are made to look very similar or identical. The item you are purchasing should look like the one shown in the picture(s).
