Forget about "light as a feather." This is a seriously heavy bird, but that's not surprising considering its pedigree. Each of these parrots has the body of a pipe wrench, the head of an adjustable wrench, nuts for eyes, screws for legs, toes cut from metal rings, and bendable wings made of sheet metal. Various other metal bits and scraps make up the rest of each bird.
The smaller of the two birds sits on its own swing. Its crest was made from small machine screws. The bird measures 10" from the top of the head to the tip of the tail. The piece is about 15" from the top of the swing to the bird's tail, 10" at the widest part of the swing, and 8.5" from beak to back. It has a hole at the top of the swing for hanging.
The larger of these psittacines (look it up) sits on a perch that is screwed onto a heavy-duty stake, appropriate for the garden or a large houseplant. It is 16" from head to tail and has a crest made from pliers handles. Its wingspan is 14", give or take a few inches depending on how much you "fluff" its feathers. The stake extends about 32" from the ground to the perch. Although it is meant to sit atop the included stake, it does sit nicely on a flat surface.
These parrots were made from real used tools, not fabricated pieces made to look like tools, and they are HEAVY! The larger parrot also requires oversize packaging for the perch. Because of this, they are not eligible for free shipping.
