Joy Sparks uses only authentic keys removed carefully from typewriters for her creations. Each finished piece is a unique work of art and makes a great gift or something special for yourself. Because real vintage typewriter keys are used, appearance will vary and keys may show signs of use/wear, adding character to every piece.

About Joy Sparks Designs
As a former high school teacher, Joy found herself drawn to the history behind old typewriters. The Allendale, Michigan, resident says, "There is something about the way they look, the way they sound, the way they create." Turning them into jewelry was the logical combination of two of Joy's biggest passions.
Joy taught herself the unique process of removing the keys, grinding the backs, and making them into one of a kind pieces of jewelry. She's also passionate about using jewelry-making as a "social impact business." The profits she earns allow her to spend many hours in Michigan prisons teaching classes, hosting special events, and speaking to people that are incarcerated, giving them hope as they write the next chapter of their future.
