In general, most of our products are repurposed from manmade objects, but sometimes we have to bend our own rules, and that's the case with elephant paper. No, it's not made from elephants; it's made from 25% recycled paper and 75% elephant dung. Yep, it's poop paper, and it's eco-friendly, fair trade, hand-crafted—and odorless.
These Eco Maximus elephant dung writing sets are full of color and fun, perfect for elephant lovers everywhere! Made by Eco Maximus in Sri Lanka from elephant dung and recycled paper, these stationery sets are an ideal gift for someone who wants something a bit different! The writing sets contain 10 sheets of A5 paper and 5 un-gummed envelopes, all made from elephant dung paper, and come complete with a natural tea wood pencil.
Only natural dyes are used and the paper is acid-free. There is a serious side to these stationery sets, though: Eco Maximus's aim, through the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust, is to educate the local communities on the plight of the Sri Lankan elephant and to eventually live together in harmony.
Each of these items is different. The images shown are sample photos and do not show the exact item you are purchasing. Because each is handmade using upcycled materials, you should understand that the product you receive will vary in appearance.
About Paper High
Born out of a love of travel, Paper High began as a round-the-world trip for Mark and Claire. An unexpected change in destination, an extended stay in Kathmandu, and a chance meeting with a papermaker sowed the seed of an exciting business idea. In 2002, after returning with two boxes of beautifully handmade journals and photo albums, they setup their very first stall at Camden Market in London. Now, 20 years, a few more stalls, festivals, and their own warehouse later, they're still selling those items—and a bit more.
Paper High has created their own beloved network of small family businesses, community incentives, charities, and accredited Fair Trade organizations, and they've seen first-hand the impact that using a Fair Trade business model has on the families, communities, and local economy of their producers.
All Paper High products are Fair Trade, as set out by the World Fair Trade Organization (WFTO), and the company has been a member of the British Association for Fair Trade Shops (BAFTS) since 2002. Expertly handcrafted by highly skilled artisans, only locally sourced, sustainable, and recycled materials are used wherever possible, making every single product beautifully authentic.
